Ingredients

The cake

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon table salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • cups milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 8 oz unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

The glaze

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 4-5 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13 inch pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, milk, eggs, and vanilla until combined.
  3. Slowly add the melted butter and mix until incorporated.
  4. In another bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  5. Pour the cake batter into the prepared pan and drop spoonfuls of the cinnamon mixture on top.
  6. Use a knife to swirl the cinnamon mixture into the batter.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  9. Drizzle the glaze over the warm cake and serve.
