Instructions
- Prepare the dough by whisking warm buttermilk, sugar, and yeast together, then let it sit until foamy.
- Beat in remaining sugar, softened butter, eggs, and salt, then gradually add flour until the dough comes together.
- Knead the dough until soft and slightly tacky, then let it rise in a greased bowl until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle.
- Spread softened butter over the dough, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar, then roll it up tightly.
- Cut the rolled dough into 8 large pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
- Cover the rolls and let them rise until puffy.
- Preheat the oven and bake the rolls until lightly browned.
- Prepare the icing by beating cream cheese, confectioners’ sugar, cream, and vanilla until smooth.
- Spread the icing over warm rolls and serve.
