Instructions
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium low heat.
- Add brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg, cooking for about 1 minute until moist.
- Stir in 1 tablespoon of rum, water, and vanilla extract, cooking until bubbly and thickened for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Add the bananas to the skillet and coat them with the sauce.
- Remove the pan from heat and pour in the remaining rum.
- Carefully ignite the rum and allow the alcohol to burn off.
- Return the skillet to heat and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring and flipping the bananas until tender.
- Serve warm banana foster topped with vanilla ice cream.
