Instructions
- Combine 3 cups of flour, salt, yeast, and sugar in a bowl.
- Add warm water and oil, mixing until combined.
- Let the mixture rest for 10 minutes until slightly bubbly.
- Gradually add another 3 to 4 cups of flour until a cohesive dough forms.
- Knead for about 2 minutes until smooth.
- Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled (about 1 hour).
- Punch down the dough and divide it into two pieces.
- Shape each piece into a loaf and place in greased bread pans.
- Cover and let rise until doubled and above the pan rim (about 1 hour).
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Bake for 30-32 minutes until golden.
- Remove from the oven, brush with butter if desired, and cool completely.
