The frosting

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Sift together the all-purpose flour, cake flour, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.
- In a separate bowl, whip the butter and sugar until pale and fluffy.
- Mix in the egg, then add the egg whites one at a time, blending well.
- Add the vanilla and almond extracts.
- Alternately mix in the dry ingredients and milk into the butter mixture until just combined.
- Gently fold in the sprinkles.
- Divide the batter among 12 paper-lined muffin cups, filling each about ¾ full.
- Bake for 17-19 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the muffin tin for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- For the frosting, whip the butter until nearly white and fluffy.
- Add powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract, mixing until light and fluffy.
- Frost the cooled cupcakes as desired and sprinkle with nonpareils.
