Ingredients

The dough

  • 1 batch easy whole wheat pizza dough or store-bought pizza dough

The sauce and cheese

  • 1 cup pizza sauce or pesto
  • 8 ounces freshly grated low-moisture part-skim mozzarella cheese or goat cheese, crumbled

Toppings

  • to taste toppings of your choice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to 400 to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Flour one side of the dough and lightly oil the other side.
  3. Grill the oiled side of the dough until lightly firmed up, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Flip the dough and add sauce, cheese, and desired toppings.
  5. Grill again until the cheese is melted, about 2 to 4 minutes.
  6. Add any final toppings and serve.
