Instructions
- Wash and dry the apples, then insert a craft stick into each apple and place them on a greased jellyroll pan in the refrigerator.
- Cook the caramel according to the directions, heating it to 239 degrees before removing it from heat.
- Pour the caramel into a medium saucepan and let it cool for 20 minutes.
- Dip each apple in the caramel, swirling to coat, and scrape off excess caramel.
- Tilt the apples upside down to allow the caramel to set before returning them to the greased pan.
- Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or microwave, stirring until smooth.
- Coat the caramel apples with melted chocolate and sprinkle desired toppings before the chocolate cools.
- Return the coated apples to the refrigerator until the chocolate is set.
- Let the caramel apples sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes before serving.
