Ingredients

The chicken

  • 4 pieces boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 ½ Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Tbsp minced fresh garlic
  • 2 tsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 1 tsp minced fresh thyme
  • 1 tsp minced fresh rosemary
  • 1 Tbsp minced fresh parsley

The seasoning

  • to taste salt
  • to taste freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
  3. Season the chicken with salt and pepper, then place it in the skillet.
  4. Cook the chicken for 6-7 minutes until golden brown, then flip and cook until it reaches 165°F, about 5-6 more minutes.
  5. Transfer the chicken to a plate and cover it with foil to keep warm.
  6. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and melt the butter.
  7. Add minced garlic and sauté until lightly golden.
  8. Stir in flour and cook until lightly golden.
  9. Whisk in the milk and add cream cheese, thyme, and rosemary, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  10. Cook the sauce until it simmers and the cream cheese melts.
  11. Return the chicken to the pan and spoon sauce over it.
  12. Sprinkle with parsley if desired and serve immediately.
