Ingredients

The cookie dough

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup Dutch processed cocoa
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup chopped pecans
  • ½ cup caramel bits

For drizzling

  • to taste salted caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or a Silpat mat.
  2. 2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
  3. 3. Cream the butter and sugars together until smooth, then add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  4. 4. Gradually mix in the flour mixture until just combined, then fold in the chocolate chips, pecans, and caramel bits.
  5. 5. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  6. 6. Bake for 8-10 minutes until set but still soft in the center. Let them cool on the baking sheet for 3 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
  7. 7. Drizzle with salted caramel sauce before serving.
