Ingredients

  • 3 large ripe avocados
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons lime juice
  • ½ to ¾ teaspoon fine salt
  • 1 clove garlic (optional)
  • ½ cup red onion
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro
  • 1 jalapeño finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half and remove the pit.
  2. Scoop the avocado flesh into a large bowl and mash it with a fork until smooth.
  3. Add lime juice, salt, garlic (if using), red onion, cilantro, and jalapeño to the bowl.
  4. Mix and mash the ingredients together until well combined.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning with more lime juice or salt if needed.
  6. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 72 hours.
