Instructions
- Combine olive oil, lime juice, sugar, salt, cumin, garlic, water, smoked paprika, onion powder, and chili powder in a resealable bag or bowl and whisk together.
- Add the steak, onions, and peppers to the marinade and chill for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat the grill or skillet to medium-high heat.
- Cook the steak for 5-6 minutes per side for medium doneness, then let it rest for 5 minutes.
- Cook the peppers and onions for 4-5 minutes until tender, seasoning with salt to taste.
- Slice the steak thinly against the grain and serve it over the cooked peppers and onions, garnished with cilantro.
