Ingredients

The French Toast

  • 6 large eggs
  • ¾ cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 8 slices thick-cut bread
  • 3 tablespoons butter

Cinnamon Sugar Topping

  • 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Combine brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl to make the cinnamon sugar topping and set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and maple syrup.
  3. Slice the thick-cut bread into sticks.
  4. Submerge the bread sticks in the egg mixture, letting them soak for about a minute.
  5. Heat butter in a nonstick skillet over medium/low heat.
  6. Cook the bread sticks in batches until golden brown, flipping halfway through.
  7. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar on both sides of the sticks and cook for an additional 20 seconds on each side.
  8. Repeat the cooking process until all sticks are done.
