The cooking ingredients

avocado oil or olive oil

sweet yellow onion
thinly sliced

chicken broth

all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Mix the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
- Season both sides of the pork chops with the spice mixture.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the pork chops until browned on both sides.
- Remove the pork chops and keep them warm.
- Add more oil to the skillet, deglaze with some broth, and sauté the sliced onion until browned.
- Sprinkle flour over the onions and stir until coated.
- Add the remaining broth and ground sage, and bring to a simmer until thickened.
- Return the pork chops to the skillet, cover with gravy, and cook until the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
- Garnish with fresh herbs and serve, optionally with mashed potatoes.
