Ingredients

The pork chops

  • 4 pieces bone-in thick center-cut pork loin chops

The gravy

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup sliced onions
  • ¼ cup flour
  • ½ cup heavy whipping cream
  • cups chicken broth
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet or cast-iron pan on medium heat.
  2. Season the pork chops with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Drizzle olive oil in the skillet to coat it.
  4. Add the pork chops to the pan and cook each side for 4-5 minutes until they reach an internal temperature of at least 145 degrees.
  5. Remove the pork chops from the pan and set aside.
  6. Add butter and olive oil to the skillet and melt.
  7. Add sliced onions and cook until translucent and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
  8. Stir in flour gradually to avoid clumping.
  9. Add heavy whipping cream, chicken broth, and garlic powder, stirring until the sauce thickens.
  10. Return the pork chops to the skillet with the gravy and serve.
