Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil, placing a wire rack on top.
- Spiralize the trimmed potato using a 1/4-inch blade and cut long spirals into shorter pieces.
- Soak the spiralized potatoes in cold water for 15 to 30 minutes.
- In a Dutch oven, heat 1 ½ to 2 inches of oil to 375 degrees.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, then add water to form a batter.
- Drain the fries, dry them, and dredge in the batter.
- Fry the coated fries in batches until golden brown, about 4 to 5 minutes.
- Transfer the cooked fries to a paper towel-lined baking sheet and sprinkle with salt, keeping them warm in the oven.
