Pull-Apart Garlic Bread Rolls

Ingredients

The dough

  • teaspoon active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup warm water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon rosemary, minced
  • 3¼-3½ cups all-purpose flour

The garlic butter

  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1-2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • to taste Parmesan cheese, grated

Instructions

  1. Mix warm water and yeast, let it sit until dissolved.
  2. Combine milk, melted butter, sugar, salt, garlic powder, and minced rosemary in a bowl.
  3. Pour the milk mixture into the yeast mixture and mix thoroughly.
  4. Add flour and continue mixing until a soft dough forms.
  5. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 6-8 minutes until smooth.
  6. Place the dough in a greased bowl and let it rise until doubled, about 1½ to 2 hours.
  7. Punch down the dough, divide it into 20-24 pieces, and roll into balls.
  8. Place the balls in a greased baking pan and let rise for another 20 minutes.
  9. Brush the rolls with egg wash and bake at 350°F for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Mix melted butter with parsley and minced garlic.
  11. Brush the baked rolls with garlic butter and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
  12. Return to the oven for 5 minutes to melt the cheese.
  13. Cool slightly before serving.
