Ingredients

The dough

  • 1 pound fresh pizza dough

The filling

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • cup parsley
  • cup basil
  • ¼ cup rosemary leaves
  • 1 teaspoon thyme leaves
  • 1 cup shredded Italian cheeses (parmesan, asiago, romano)

Instructions

  1. Roll out the pizza dough to a size of 20 x 10 inches.
  2. Spread the butter evenly over the dough.
  3. Spread the herbs and cheese over the buttered dough and press them in gently.
  4. Cut the dough into squares suitable for a long loaf pan.
  5. Stack the pieces vertically in the pan, adding any fallen ingredients back on top.
  6. Cover the pan with foil and let it rest for 20 minutes while preheating the oven to 375°F.
  7. Uncover the pan and bake for approximately 55 minutes until golden on top.
  8. Remove the bread from the pan and serve.
