Ingredients

  • 3 pieces ripe avocados
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ cup diced red onion
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp chopped cilantro
  • 1 clove garlic (crushed, optional)
  • 1 piece plum tomato (diced, optional)
  • 1 dash cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half and remove the skin.
  2. Chop the avocados and place them in a medium bowl.
  3. Mash the avocados to your desired consistency.
  4. Sprinkle with salt and add the remaining ingredients.
  5. Stir the mixture to combine well.
  6. Serve with chips or vegetable strips.
  7. To store, place in an airtight container, press down with a spoon, pour a thin layer of water on top, and cover.
  8. When ready to serve, pour off the water, stir, and transfer to a serving bowl.
