Grilled Asparagus with Parmesan

Ingredients

The asparagus

  • 1 pound fresh asparagus spears

The seasoning

  • 2 teaspoons avocado oil or olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons shredded parmesan cheese
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper
  • optional lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium heat (350-375℉) or to 450-500℉ for wood-fired grills.
  2. Rinse the asparagus under cool water, pat dry, and trim the bottom 1-2 inches from each spear.
  3. Arrange the asparagus on a grill pan or baking sheet, drizzle with oil, and rub the oil onto the asparagus. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Place the grill pan on the grill or lay the spears perpendicular to the grate. Cook for 6-8 minutes, turning halfway through, until tender.
  5. Remove from the grill, sprinkle with parmesan cheese if using, and serve with lemon wedges.
