Ingredients

The Brownie Pie

  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cups HERSHEY'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon instant espresso powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

The Frosting

  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups shredded sweetened coconut
  • ½ cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a tart pan.
  2. Melt the butter and chocolate chips over simmering water until smooth, then cool.
  3. In a mixer, beat eggs, sugar, espresso powder, and vanilla until blended.
  4. Add the cooled chocolate mixture and mix well.
  5. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl, then add to the mixer and mix until just combined.
  6. Stir in half of the chopped pecans and pour the batter into the prepared pan, topping with the remaining pecans.
  7. Bake for 34-45 minutes until the top cracks and the center is set but soft.
  8. Prepare the frosting by beating egg yolks until thick, then add evaporated milk, sugar, and vanilla.
  9. Cook the mixture over medium heat until thickened, then stir in coconut and pecans.
  10. Cool the frosting and spread it over the brownie pie before serving.
