Instructions
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt, then set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat the butter and cream cheese until smooth, then add the sugar and mix until creamy.
- Add the egg, vanilla, and almond extract, mixing until combined.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients until a thick dough forms, then chill for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Roll the dough into balls and coat them in sanding sugar before placing them on the baking sheets.
- Gently press down on each dough ball to flatten slightly.
- Bake for 12-13 minutes until lightly browned on the edges.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
