Ingredients

The ribs

  • 6 lb country style ribs

The seasoning

  • 3 tsp fine sea salt
  • 2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp avocado oil
  • 2 tsp hickory liquid smoke

The sauce

  • 1 bottle bbq sauce (approx. 18 oz)

The aromatics

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. 1. Remove the ribs from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  2. 2. Preheat the oven to 275ºF.
  3. 3. Season the ribs on all sides with salt and pepper.
  4. 4. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, add avocado oil, and brown the ribs on all sides in batches.
  5. 5. Place the browned ribs back in the skillet, brush with liquid smoke, and cover with a lid.
  6. 6. Cook in the oven for 2 hours.
  7. 7. Carefully transfer the ribs to a plate and discard the liquid from the pan.
  8. 8. Return the ribs to the pan, pour the BBQ sauce over them, add minced garlic, and mix to coat.
  9. 9. Cook uncovered in the oven for 45 minutes, basting halfway through.
  10. 10. Remove from the oven and serve with your favorite sides.
