Ingredients

The asparagus

  • 1 pound asparagus stalks, trimmed

The seasoning

  • 8 teaspoons butter, cut into small pieces
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • to taste cooking spray
  • to serve lemon wedges (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat or the oven to 425°F.
  2. 2. Coat four large squares of foil with cooking spray.
  3. 3. Divide the asparagus stalks evenly among the squares of foil.
  4. 4. Sprinkle Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper over the asparagus.
  5. 5. Place 2 teaspoons of butter in each packet.
  6. 6. Fold the foil over the asparagus to seal completely.
  7. 7. Grill the packets for 15 minutes, flipping halfway through, or bake for the same time.
  8. 8. Carefully open the foil packets, stir to coat the asparagus with butter and seasonings, and sprinkle with parsley before serving with lemon wedges if desired.
