Ingredients

The Brussels Sprouts

  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts

The Marinade

  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Skewers

  • as needed wood or metal skewers

Instructions

  1. Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 1 hour before cooking.
  2. Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and remove any brown leaves, then microwave them for 3 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper with the cooled Brussels sprouts.
  4. Thread 4 to 5 Brussels sprouts onto each skewer, leaving ½ inch between each sprout.
  5. Preheat the grill to medium heat (about 375°F) and grill the skewers for 5 minutes on one side.
  6. Flip the skewers and grill for another 5 minutes until browned and tender.
  7. Remove the sprouts from the skewers and toss them with the reserved marinade before serving.
