Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Cream the softened butter and brown sugar together in a large bowl.
- Add the vanilla and egg to the butter and sugar mixture, mixing until just combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the white whole wheat flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients until just mixed, then fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop 12 equal portions of dough onto a parchment-lined cookie sheet.
- Bake for 8-9 minutes until the edges are golden brown but the tops are still soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool before serving.
