Ingredients

The asparagus

  • 1 lb Asparagus (trimmed)

The cooking fats

  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted butter (or more oil for dairy-free)

The seasonings

  • ¼ tsp Sea salt
  • ¼ tsp Black pepper
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 2 tsp Lemon zest

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the asparagus and season with salt and pepper, sautéing until bright green but still slightly crisp.
  3. Make a well in the center of the pan, add the butter, and let it melt.
  4. Add the minced garlic and lemon zest to the butter and sauté until fragrant.
  5. Stir the asparagus into the garlic butter mixture and continue to sauté until done to your liking.
