Ingredients

The asparagus

  • 1-2 bunches asparagus

The flavorings

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 whole lemon (juice and zest)

The topping

  • ¼ cup sliced almonds (toasted)

Instructions

  1. Snap off the ends of the asparagus and slice the spears diagonally into 2-inch pieces.
  2. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the asparagus, garlic, salt, and pepper, and cook for 3 minutes until crisp-tender.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice and zest.
  5. Top with the toasted almonds and serve.
