Instructions
- Drain the black beans and let them sit for 10 to 15 minutes, then mash them in a large bowl.
- Chop the onion and red bell pepper, blend them in a food processor, and add to the mashed beans.
- Mix in the remaining burger ingredients and seasonings, cover, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Form the mixture into patties and cook in a skillet over medium-high heat for 5 minutes on each side, adding cheese after flipping.
- Prepare the avocado sauce by blending the avocado with the other sauce ingredients until smooth.
- Assemble the burger with the avocado sauce and any desired toppings.
