Instructions
- Drain and rinse the black beans.
- In a food processor, combine black beans, breadcrumbs or oats, diced onion, and minced garlic.
- Pulse until finely chopped and well mixed, being careful not to over-process.
- Shape the mixture into patties, yielding about four to six patties.
- Lightly oil a nonstick skillet and cook the patties over medium heat for about 4 minutes on each side.
- Alternatively, bake the patties on parchment paper at 400°F for about 15 minutes on each side.
- For grilling, bake first until set, then grill over foil.
