Ingredients

The chicken tenders

  • 1 1/4 pounds raw chicken tenders

The coating

  • ½ cup all purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¾ cup Italian style breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • as needed spray cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, salt, and pepper.
  3. In another bowl, whisk eggs with water until smooth.
  4. In a third bowl, mix Italian breadcrumbs, panko, parmesan, and additional salt and pepper.
  5. Dredge each chicken tender in flour, then dip in egg, and coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  6. Repeat the process for all chicken tenders.
  7. Drizzle melted butter over the coated tenders and spray with cooking spray.
  8. Arrange the chicken in a single layer in the air fryer, cooking in batches if necessary.
  9. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway, until cooked through and crispy.
  10. Serve immediately.
