Ingredients

Filling

  • 8-9 cups peeled and cored apples, diced
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour

  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Crumble

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and grease a 9×9 casserole dish.
  2. Peel and dice the apples into chunks and add them to a large bowl.
  3. Sprinkle the apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and lemon juice, then toss to coat.
  4. Pour the apple mixture into the greased dish.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and baking powder for the crumble.
