Instructions
- Place the sliced red onions in a clean jar or airtight container.
- In a small saucepan, combine the vinegar, water, honey, salt, and any optional spices. Stir well.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat until it simmers, cooking for 1 to 2 minutes until dissolved.
- Pour the hot mixture over the onions in the jar, ensuring they are fully covered.
- Press down on the onions to submerge them and remove air bubbles.
- Allow the pickled onions to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- Cover the jar tightly and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before using.
