Ingredients

The wings

  • 2 lbs chicken wings
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper

The orange sauce

  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • ½ teaspoon orange zest
  • 1 tablespoon garlic chili sauce
  • 3 tablespoons chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 5 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons Chinese rice wine
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400ºF (207°C).
  2. Rinse the chicken wings and pat them dry with paper towels.
  3. Toss the wings in a large bowl with oil, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Line a baking tray with aluminum foil and place a baking rack on top.
  5. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the rack and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, rotating halfway through.
  6. In a saucepan, mix all ingredients for the orange sauce and heat until thickened.
  7. Once the wings are done, coat them with the orange sauce.
  8. Drizzle with sesame seeds and chopped cilantro before serving.
