Crispy Baked Chicken Wings

Ingredients

The chicken wings

  • 2 pounds chicken wings

The seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika or smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Buffalo sauce (optional)

  • ¼ cup Franks Buffalo mild wing sauce
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Combine garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and baking powder in a bowl.
  3. Cut the chicken wings at the joint into 2 or 3 pieces.
  4. Pat the wings dry and toss with half of the seasoning mixture.
  5. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top, spraying it with non-stick spray.
  6. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the rack and sprinkle with the remaining seasoning mixture.
  7. Bake for 25 minutes, then turn the wings over and bake for an additional 25 minutes.
  8. Let the wings cool for 5 minutes before serving, or toss them in Buffalo sauce if desired.
  9. To make the Buffalo sauce, melt butter, then whisk in the Buffalo sauce and honey.
