Homemade Marinara Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium white onion, diced
  • 4 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 large field tomatoes, diced
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cracked black pepper
  • ½ tsp chili flakes
  • ¾ cup fresh basil

Instructions

  1. 1. Add the unsalted butter, olive oil, diced onion, minced garlic, diced tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, cracked black pepper, and chili flakes to a medium-sized pot over medium-high heat.
  2. 2. Allow the ingredients to cook down and combine for 20 to 25 minutes.
  3. 3. Transfer the sauce ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth and creamy, adjusting seasoning to taste.
  4. 4. Pour the sauce into a large pot with cooked Spaghettini and mix to combine.
  5. 5. Split apart the burrata cheese and add half of it to the pot, mixing to melt the cheese.
  6. 6. Serve the marinara sauce with pasta or on pizza.
