Slow Cooker Brisket with BBQ Sauce

The vegetables and sauce

BBQ sauce

Instructions
- Prick the brisket all over with a meat tenderizer or fork.
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, smoked paprika, salt, thyme, garlic powder, cumin, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Rub the seasoning mixture all over the brisket and cover it tightly with plastic wrap. Refrigerate overnight.
- Place the sliced onion in the bottom of the slow cooker and place the brisket on top.
- Mix the BBQ sauce and water, then pour it over the brisket.
- Cover and cook on low for 10 hours or high for 6 hours.
- Once cooked, transfer the brisket to a cutting board and tent with foil. Let it rest for at least 20 minutes.
- Slice the brisket against the grain or shred it and serve with the sauce.
