The barbecue sauce

Instructions
- Mix the dry rub spices in a small bowl until well blended.
- Rub the dry rub into the brisket and refrigerate for at least an hour, preferably overnight.
- Combine barbecue sauce ingredients in the slow cooker and mix well.
- Place the brisket on top of the barbecue sauce in the slow cooker.
- Cook the brisket on low for 8 hours.
- Remove the brisket and pour the cooking liquid into a saucepan.
- Simmer the sauce over medium-high heat until it thickens.
- Brush olive oil on the brisket and place it in a preheated oven at 400°F for 15 minutes.
- Slather the brisket with barbecue sauce and return it to the oven for another 5 minutes.
- Remove, tent with foil, and let it cool for 15 minutes before slicing.
- Serve with additional barbecue sauce.
