Ingredients

The scones

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • ¼ cup brown sugar

  • 3 Tbsp cold light butter
  • ¼ cup fat-free milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 eggs eggs
  • ½ cup raisins

The glaze

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp fat-free milk
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Mix together flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and beaten eggs, mixing until blended.
  5. Knead in the raisins on a floured surface and shape the dough into a 9-inch disc.
  6. Slice the dough into 12 equal pieces and bake for about 15 minutes.
  7. Allow to cool before drizzling with the glaze made from whisking powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract.
