Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ cup salted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • cups mashed ripe bananas (about 3 large bananas)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips or regular chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease an 8x8 or 9x9-inch baking pan.
  2. 2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, salt, and baking soda.
  3. 3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. 4. Add the eggs, mashed bananas, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. 5. Gradually add the flour mixture in thirds, alternating with the buttermilk, mixing until just combined.
