Instructions
- Adjust the oven racks to the highest and lowest positions and preheat the oven to 425°F.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread with 3 tablespoons of melted butter.
- Use a round cutter to cut a hole in the center of each slice of bread and remove the circle.
- Melt the remaining butter in a preheated baking sheet and arrange the bread slices butter-side up.
- Bake the bread for about 1 ½ minutes until lightly toasted, flipping and rotating halfway through.
- Place the bread in a second baking sheet, crack an egg into each hole, and season with salt and pepper.
- Return the stacked baking sheets to the oven and bake for 6 to 7 minutes until the egg whites are set.
- Allow to cool for 3 minutes before serving.
