Instructions
- Boil water in a large saucepan, then add rice and salt.
- Cover and reduce heat to low, simmering until most of the liquid is absorbed.
- Heat milk until steaming and add it to the rice along with sugar.
- Simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Cool slightly before serving or refrigerate until chilled.
