Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400ºF and butter an 8.5×4.5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until you have a wet, sticky batter.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and spread it out evenly.
- Sprinkle oats over the top to cover.
- Bake for 45 to 55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
