Ingredients

The beans

  • 1 pound green beans, trimmed

The bacon

  • 2 slices bacon, cut into ½-inch pieces

Seasoning

  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

Instructions

  1. 1. Place the green beans in a medium pot and cover with lightly salted cold water. Bring to a simmer.
  2. 2. Simmer the green beans over medium-low to medium heat for 5 to 10 minutes until they reach your desired level of doneness. Drain the beans.
  3. 3. While the green beans are cooking, add the bacon pieces to a large skillet and cook until done.
  4. 4. If the bacon is done before the green beans, remove the pan from heat until the beans are ready.
  5. 5. Once the green beans are drained, add them to the pan with the bacon and toss to coat in the bacon drippings.
  6. 6. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. 7. Serve and enjoy!
