Ingredients

The granola base

  • cups oats
  • 1 cup pepitas
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground allspice
  • ½ teaspoon salt

The wet ingredients

  • ¾ cup applesauce
  • tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Add-ins

  • 1 cup chopped dried apples

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F.
  2. Mix oats, pepitas, brown sugar, cinnamon, allspice, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Warm applesauce, honey, canola oil, and vanilla extract in a small saucepan.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, then spread the mixture on a baking sheet.
  5. Bake for about 45 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes, until golden brown.
  6. Stir in dried apples and let the granola cool completely before storing.
