Ingredients

The crust

  • 2 cups almond flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 teaspoons Garlic and Herb Seasoning Blend

The filling

  • 10 ounces ham, chopped
  • 4 ounces shallots, thinly sliced
  • 4 ounces onion, thinly sliced
  • 5 ounces fresh arugula
  • 2 tablespoons oil

The custard

  • ½ teaspoon Garlic and Herb Seasoning Blend
  • 1 pinch nutmeg
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 8 large eggs
  • 4 ounces Havarti cheese
  • 4 ounces Gouda cheese
  • 1 medium tomato, seeded and sliced thinly into rounds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust by mixing the dry ingredients and then adding the beaten egg to form a dough. Refrigerate the dough until needed.
  2. Prepare the spring-form pan by lining it with parchment paper.
  3. Roll out the dough and fit it into the spring-form pan, trimming any excess.
  4. In a pan, sauté the onions and shallots until soft, then add the arugula until wilted. Combine with chopped ham in a bowl.
  5. In another bowl, mix the custard ingredients, adding the cheese last, and blend until smooth.
  6. Pour the custard mixture into the spring-form pan over the ham and vegetables.
  7. Arrange tomato slices on top and sprinkle with reserved cheese.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 1 hour, or until set.
  9. Cool for 30 minutes before removing from the pan.
