tomato, seeded and sliced thinly into rounds
Instructions
- Prepare the crust by mixing the dry ingredients and then adding the beaten egg to form a dough. Refrigerate the dough until needed.
- Prepare the spring-form pan by lining it with parchment paper.
- Roll out the dough and fit it into the spring-form pan, trimming any excess.
- In a pan, sauté the onions and shallots until soft, then add the arugula until wilted. Combine with chopped ham in a bowl.
- In another bowl, mix the custard ingredients, adding the cheese last, and blend until smooth.
- Pour the custard mixture into the spring-form pan over the ham and vegetables.
- Arrange tomato slices on top and sprinkle with reserved cheese.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 1 hour, or until set.
- Cool for 30 minutes before removing from the pan.
