Ingredients

The crust

  • 2 cups almond flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 teaspoons Garlic and Herb Seasoning Blend

The filling

  • 10 ounces ham, chopped
  • 4 ounces shallots, thinly sliced
  • 4 ounces onion, thinly sliced
  • 5 ounces fresh arugula
  • 2 tablespoons oil

The custard

  • ½ teaspoon Garlic and Herb Seasoning Blend
  • 1 pinch nutmeg
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 8 large eggs
  • 4 ounces Havarti cheese
  • 4 ounces Gouda cheese
  • 1 medium tomato, seeded and sliced thinly into rounds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust by mixing the dry ingredients and then adding the beaten egg to form a dough. Refrigerate until needed.
  2. Cut parchment to fit the bottom and sides of a 9-inch springform pan, then prepare the crust in the pan.
  3. For the filling, sauté onions and shallots in oil until soft, then add arugula until wilted and combine with chopped ham.
  4. In a bowl, mix the custard ingredients together, adding the cheese last, and blend until smooth.
  5. Pour the custard mixture into the prepared crust and arrange tomato slices on top.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about an hour, until set and golden on top.
  7. Let cool for 30 minutes before removing from the pan.
