Ingredients

The cabbage

  • 2 large heads cabbage

The seasoning

  • cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

The garnish

  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Trim the stem ends of the cabbage heads, then cut each cabbage into 1-inch thick slices to create 'steaks'. Place the cabbage steaks on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Whisk together the olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, then brush this mixture onto both sides of each cabbage steak.
  4. Roast the cabbage steaks for 25 minutes or until they are tender and slightly golden brown.
  5. Remove the steaks from the oven, drizzle with lemon juice, and garnish with parsley before serving.
