Ingredients

The French Toast

  • 6 large eggs
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 8 slices thick-cut bread
  • 3 tablespoons butter

Cinnamon Sugar Topping

  • 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Make the cinnamon sugar topping by combining brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  2. Whisk together the eggs, milk, and maple syrup in a bowl.
  3. Submerge each slice of bread in the egg mixture for around 1 minute to soak.
  4. Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium/low heat.
  5. Add 1/3 of the soaked bread slices to the skillet and cook for about 3 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Flip the slices, increase the heat to medium, and cook for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar on each slice before removing from the pan and caramelize for 20 seconds on each side.
  8. Wipe the pan and repeat the cooking process for the remaining slices.
  9. Serve and enjoy!
