Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 250°F and prepare a baking sheet.
- In a large shallow bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg, maple syrup, and vanilla extract.
- In a non-stick frying pan, heat 2 tbsp of butter over medium heat.
- Quickly dip slices of brioche into the egg mixture until well coated and add them to the frying pan, cooking 2 at a time.
- Cook one side for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown, sprinkle 1 tsp of brown sugar on each slice if desired, then flip to cook the second side.
- Cook the second side for a few more minutes until golden brown, then remove to the baking sheet.
- Keep the cooked slices warm in the oven while you cook the remaining slices, adding more butter to the pan as needed.
- Serve warm topped with maple syrup, butter, and fresh berries if desired.
