Instructions
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium-high heat, then add onion, garlic, and thyme, sautéing until the onions wilt.
- Whisk in flour to create a roux, stirring for 2-3 minutes to eliminate the raw flour taste.
- Gradually add about ¼ of the beef broth while whisking until thick and smooth.
- Add the remaining broth, bring to a boil, reduce heat, and cook until thickened.
- Stir in bouillon powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper, cooking for an additional minute.
- For the super easy method, heat beef broth with onion, garlic, and beef powder until boiling.
- Make a slurry with water and cornstarch, then pour it into the broth, stirring until thickened.
- Finish by adding butter and adjusting seasonings as needed.
